Parking  any vehicle within a plowed right-of-way during snow removal is  prohibited by State Law.  Such vehicles will be towed at the owner's  expense.

In  order to conform with Maine Department Of Transportation and United  States Postal Service guidelines, we have adopted a mail box policy for  roadside mail boxes.

Request for Snowplowing Bids for

 

  

Bids are now being accepted for snow removal and sanding for approximately 43 miles of town ways for the Town of Porter. 

A bid sheet, a copy of the proposed contract and a list of minimum equipment required may be picked up at the Town Office or on the home page of our web site (www.portermaine.org).


***Due to a technical glitch, we have changed some dates and times to allow prospective bidders more time to formulate their bids. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

All bids must be received in the Town Office by 5PM on June 21, 2019.

Bids will be opened at 9AM on June 24, 2019


ALL BIDDERS MUST BE PRESENT AT THE TOWN HALL FOR A SITE VISIT ON June 17, 2019 at 9AM.

Bids are for a 5 (five) year contract.


The selectmen reserve the right to reject any and all bids.

Important Notice

Please do not plow, throw, snow blow or in any way leave snow in the roadway.  If you have a contractor plow your driveway, please make sure they do not leave snow in the roadway or across the road.  If a problem occurs, it would be the contractor's and the land owner's liability.  
It is also illegal to do so.
