News about the Dams

May 4, the boards were inserted back into Colcord Pond Dam. With all the rain we're getting the level should be rising quickly.

May 7, Black Bog Dam has several boards removed in anticipation of large culverts being installed on Old Meetinghouse Road. Work should start in a couple of weeks. It is necessary to lower the water level significantly for work and safety.

Bickford Pond dam repairs are still pending and the water level will continue to be kept low inorder to let the earthworks dry out.

Food Pantry

Due to the government shutdown, Riverside Food Pantry at the Riverside Methodist Church in Porter will be holding an emergency pantry on November 8th ( Saturday) from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.

NOTICE

The Assessors will be in town hall from 9am to 3pm on Tuesdays for the next period of time. If you have questions or issues, please arrange a good time to meet by emailing assessor@portermaine.org.

Note that the town clerk and treasurer cannot help with assessing and property valuation issues.

POrter residents / Taxpayers

Please be advised that the Assessors are now actively reviewing all properties throughout the town.

They are working their way from the roads that will be hard to reach in the winter and spring and then moving towards the villages.

The Porter line extension that we discussed with Spectrum last year has been completed. This extension means that 129 additional homes are eligible to subscribe to Charter/Spectrum services (cable TV, internet, or digital phone). For a list of the new homes click on the button below.
